Completed Kitchen Remodel

Here are all of the before and after pictures of the kitchen remodel. This is the bay window before.
Bay window after- the most noticible changes in the photo are the lack of a window sill and the new shades.

Kitchen-after
I am so glad Chris talked me into the remodel! I wasn't too keen at first because we had already put so much money and work into upgrades in the house. With the housing market the way it is I was afraid that we wouldn't get anything in return when we're ready to sell in a couple years. I was really set on an undermount sink though as I HATED the sink we had before. I knew if I wanted that we'd have to replace the counter tops and then we might as well just do it all. The pictures don't show how nice the finished product looks, but we are very happy with how it turned out!
Close up of the new counters and backsplash. The counter tops are Romanite (a solid surface) and were installed by my uncle who owns the company. They look great and clean up easy! They look like they are granite. We got the stone for the backsplash at Biehn Floorworks in Bristol. We also went with them for the bathroom remodel and highly recommend them! They are wonderful and VERY helpful especially when the whole process is overwhelming for people!
Finished view of the window over the sink. Before the window frame went all the up to the cupboards. We were able to run the stone up the sides of the window now. Did I mention I LOVE my undermount sink!! I'll never go back! The crank out window is much easier for my vertically challenged body to open and close too.

Completed Windows

These pictures are way overdue! We finished the kitchen remodel at the beginning of July! This is the back view of the house before the new windows went in the kitchen.
This is after. The baywindow was reframed after the windows were put in. You can't really tell from this picture, but the color of the paint on window surround is now a different color to match the windows better. We are very happy with the new windows and for the first time in 4 years ALL the windows in our house now open! We also got to pitch those pesky old screens that had to be taken in and out as the seasons changed. We'll see this winter how much of a difference the new windows make. We could tell when entering the kitchen last winter that the windows were much more drafty than the windows in the rest of the house. The kitchen should be much warmer this winter!

WHEEEEE!

Today Mommy and I went to the library. After we picked out some books we went to the playground by the library. It was my first time in a big girl swing at the park! I loved it and giggled a lot!

Cousins

Mommy got some nice pictures of me with Lauren and Parker this weekend.

Elegant Farmer Horses

We found some really cool rocking horses at the Elegant Farmer. Parker was riding like a cowboy!
I hitched a ride with Lauren. Next year I will be able to do it on my own.
Mommy liked this big wooden chair, so of course she put me in it and took my picture!

My First Train Ride

Saturday afternoon we all went to East Troy for a train ride. One of Daddy's former patients drove the train we rode on. The train took us to the Elegant Farmer.
The train we rode back to East Troy was quite fancy! It had comfy seats and lots of wood in the car.
When we got back Mommy, Lauren and I took a picture in front of the train.

Grampa and I hung out for a little bit in the depot after we got back.

Mangia! Mangia!

On Friday afternoon, Gramma, Grampa, Michelle, Brandon, Parker and Lauren came to visit. We went to the Italian Festival in Racine. I watched all the big people eat some really yummy looking food. I got this bib instead!

Tree Pictures

Mommy took one last set of pictures outside by the big tree in the backyard that will be cut down.
You can't see it very well, but I pulled out one blade of grass and inspected it!

Porch Pictures

Here are some pictures Mommy took of me sitting out on the front porch.

This is Mommy's favorite even though I'm not smiling. She likes the little drool on my chin and thinks I look so serious!

Petrifying Springs 2

After the bridge I sat under a tree and pulled at the grass. It sure was interesting to look at!
Then Mommy put me on the merry-go-round.

Petrifying Springs 1

On Monday Mommy borrowed Papa's camera and we went to Pets to take LOTS of pictures. This set is on the bridge that runs over the creek.

I was so curious about all the dirt and other things on the ground that I didn't want to look at Mommy for many of the pictures.

Banana Puffs

Mommy gave me something new to eat today. They were banana puffs. At first I didn't know what to do with them.
I investigated very carefully.
My tiny fingers had to work very hard to pick up the puffs.
Mission accomplished! I ate the puffs and they were super yummy!

Rocking with Raggedy Ann

Today I hung out with Nonna for awhile while Mommy went out to school to tutor. Nonna got out the little rocking chair that Mommy and Auntie used to sit in. She also got out Mommy and Auntie's Raggedy Ann doll for me to play with. I liked her hair!
