Boo at the Zoo

Last night we bundled up and went to Boo at the Zoo.

We had fun walking around the dark zoo looking at the displays and some cool pumpkins. I was too little to trick-or-treat. Mommy and Daddy said that was fine with them because the lines were CRAZY!!

We saw this cool snake made out of pumpkins.

The Land of the Giants

Yesterday Daddy took the day off of work. We went to a little pumpkin farm called Land of the Giants. I could look out the jack-o-lantern's nose all by myself!
I liked sitting by the pumpkins and pulling myself up on them.

I was really excited to get a close up look at the goats and touch them for a brief second. I was so excited I started letting out some of my happy screams and the goats walked away from me!
"Mama, Dada, where did the goats go?"
We got peek at this guy on the other side of the fence. He walked away shortly after Mommy took this picture. I was just trying to tell them I thought they were cool and they left me!
There were cute little houses with rocking chairs on the porches. They were just my size. I didn't want to sit for long though, there was a lot to see!
I went inside one of the houses and sat by the "fire."
Daddy went with me into the gingerbread house.

Hmmm... what's this new stuff?
We had a lot of fun at Land of the Giants. It was perfect for me! Maybe next year I can climb on some of the things there.

Shots Hurt!

This morning I had to get my flu shot booster. I was happy and chatty until that nurse stuck the needle into my thigh! She gave me this little purple bear to help me stop crying though. I thought that was fun and I like my new bear.

Playing In Pumpkin Guts is FUN!!!

Here's some video of Ava playing in the pumpkin guts. I think she would have played in it for hours if we would have let her!

Pumpkin Carving

Last night I got to help carve my first jack-o-lantern! Here's the pumpkin after Mommy drew the design on it.
As soon as Daddy pulled the top off I reached for the seeds!
What's in this big bowl?
I helped Daddy scoop some seeds and pulp out.
After a few scoops, I wanted to see what was inside that big orange pumpkin. I looked inside...
then I tried to chew on the side of the pumpkin.
Here's my first jack-o-lantern!

On the Move!

Last weekend Ava figured out how to use her walker on her own. She still likes to run into things though!

Future UW-L Eagle

Auntie bought me this UW-L shirt a long time ago when she had a pharmacy rotation in LaCrosse. I wasn't even born yet when she bought the shirt for me! I finally fit into it, so on Sunday Mommy, Daddy and I all wore UW-L gear. Mommy and Daddy tell me that I should be a Screaming Eagle when it's time for me to go to college. Daddy says that him and Mommy will only give me money to go to college if I go to UW-L. He said there is one exception and that's if I want to be a pharmacist I can go to Drake. I think Daddy is just teasing though.

Hmmmm...Daddy is that sweatshirt from the ESS dept?

Mommy told me about all the fun things in LaCrosse. She said I'd have fun there and that her and Daddy will take me there to visit soon. They say they are going to expose me to the area early so I will fall in love with it just like they did!

Witch Shoes

I wore my new Halloween shirt that Mommy and Nonna made me today.

Guess...

...what I had for dinner on Monday night! I had spaghetti and Nonna's homemade meatballs! It was YUMMY!

These things are COOL!

After my nap, I sat on the tree stump checking out all the gourds we brought home from Helen's. We have a club, apple, snake, pear, and drinking gourd. Mommy wrapped the snake gourd around me.
Our neighbors, Ray and Shirley, were watching me check out the treasures. I was talking to them a lot while my pictures were being taken. I also showed off and walked with Daddy for them.
I was interested in the conversation the adults were having!
Hmmm...this pear gourd is pretty interesting.
I liked pulling the curlies on the apple gourd.

Helen's Pumpkins and Gourds

Today we went to Helen's house to get some pumpkins. Helen used to teach with Mommy but she has since retired. This was the first time I got to go see the pumpkins at her house. Mommy and Daddy have been getting there pumpkins there for 4 years now. I got to sit by all of Helen's crazy gourds. She gave Mommy a bag and told her I needed some little gourds.
I thought I was hot stuff standing by this pumpkin!
Here I am with one of the little gourds I picked out.

Now these are pumpkins I can handle!

11 Months Old!

Today is my 11 month birthday! Mommy wasn't as excited about it as I was! I am excited to celebrate my birthday with family next month. I still LOVE to look at myself and screech in mirrors, I LOVE to stand on my stool in the window each morning and watch Daddy leave for work. I always say "bye bye" or "DaDa" when he leaves. I can say "bye bye" when I feel like it and "MaMa," "DaDa" and "Papa." My favorite foods are bananas, cheese and yogurt. Daddy can't ever eat a banana by himself now! I always need to have some bites too. I have four teeth. Three on the bottom and one little vampire tooth that's coming through on the top. Mommy and Daddy think my two front teeth are going to make an appearance very quickly too. I also love to walk with help more than sitting now! I don't really like it when I have to sit when I want to stand. I am starting to sit up after I've been crawling too. I am very happy and silly and make people around me giggle a lot.

Little Braid

Today Daddy picked me up from Ruth and Katie's and I had a braid in my hair! I wouldn't tell Mommy and Daddy if Ruth or Katie put it there for me.

Where Are My Toys?

All my toys are now stored in my toy box! Mommy got teary eyed last night when we moved my toys into my new box and put away some of my baby toys. Mommy and Daddy told me our living room looks like a big girl lives here instead of a baby.

Goodbye Neocate!!

For the last few months I have been drinking two small Neocate bottles each day after I eat my food. Mommy and Daddy just wanted to be sure we used every last granule of that "gold" formula! Last night was my last bottle! So...
I'm on to more fun things! Terry told Mommy to try giving me yogurt and cheese before my 12 month wellness check to see how my body tolerates the milk protein in those dairy products. If all goes well, we are hoping to be able to get the clear from Terry or Dr. Rocco to start whole milk after my appointment. Terry wanted me to try foods that have less milk protein in them first. I LOVE the yogurt and am handling it well. Mommy and Daddy are pretty sure I've outgrown my milk-protein allergy! They were worried because my allergy was so severe when I was little.
Bye bye, Neocate formula!

Yoga Baby

The other night Chris was eating a banana and Ava wanted him to share it. Between her bites of banana she was showing off her yoga moves!

Pumpkin Farm

This morning, Mommy's friend, Nikki, took our family pictures at Pets. After that we went to the pumkin farm with Nikki's husband, Jason, and daughter, Addy. We took this silly picture. Jason helped me so I could be in the picture.
A perfect sized pumpkin for me.
This is me with my friend, Addy. She put her arm around me for the picture!
This was the "Jack and Jill" pumpkin display.
Winnie the Pooh and his friends were at the pumpkin farm too. Thanks for a fun morning, Callewaerts!
