Apple Orchard

Today we went to the Brightonwoods Apple Orchard. Of course just a couple minutes before we got there it started to rain so we didn't stay long. We will have to go back another day so I can walk in the orchard and explore some more. There's an awesome tree house at the orchard that I went into.
See all the owies on my face? I fell at Miss Zivka's house yesterday. I tripped on the corner of the slide and skidded across the cement. Miss Zivka called Mommy at work to tell her about my owies.
The tree house was so cute! It was sent up as a little kitchen.

I liked using the phone the best.

Where's the Jammies?

Thursday night I went in to check on Ava and this is what I found! This was the first time she took her jammies off. I was happy she kept the diaper on!

Scamps

Tonight I had tumbling at Scamps. The pictures aren't the best because Daddy has to take them through the window, but you still can see me in action. I was practicing on the bars.
Here I was getting ready for Miss Bree to start singing the good bye song we sing each week.
Nonna and Papa came to watch me tonight. Thanks for coming, Nonna and Papa!

I Love Oliver!

Last night KK and Oliver came over. I grabbed Oliver's leash and "took him for a ride." Mommy and KK tried telling me I was taking him for a walk. I love playing with Oliver!

A Fun Autumn Night

Thursday was a wonderful fall night in Kenosha! When we got home I played with my Play-Doh and made some "cookies."
I concentrated so hard to make a perfect "cookie!"

Then Daddy and I built a fire because the house was a little chilly. We had fun snuggling by the fire with my Dora blanket.

My First Sewing Project

Chris bought me a sewing machine for an early birthday present. With my mom's help, I made my first project...pillows for my classroom. I am trying a new method for teaching reading this year, so I needed to make some pillows so the kids can have a comfy place for reading. I have about 10 more that are almost finished, including some Very Hungry Caterpillar pillowcases.

Octopus for Lunch

This afternoon we made octopus for lunch! Mommy showed me how to put the tentacles into the body of the octopus and then I helped! We made sure we counted out 8 legs.

Then we put them in the pot to cook. I called it the "swimming pool."

An octopus ready to eat! I checked that thing out very carefully when Mommy took it out of the pot.

Octopus are fun to eat!! (Do you also notice Mommy and I sporting our Miami Dolphins gear?) My outfit was one of Mommy's "deals" this summer!

Bubbles!

Tonight we went to Nonna and Papa's house for ribs. While Papa was cooking on the grill, Nonna brought out a new bubble set for me to play with. We made some HUGE bubbles and some tiny bubbles!

I finally got my bubble blowing skills down. Daddy says I'll be ready to blow out my birthday candles this year.

Then I took a break from the bubbles to watch Papa cook the ribs.

Lake Michigan on a WINDY Day!

Chris, Dad and I went down by the lake today. There were some HUGE waves out there.

Rabbit Trails

Yesterday morning we also went down by Myrick Park. The zoo no longer exists! It's been replaced by an ecosystem park. We decided to walk a little on the rabbit trails. Mommy and Daddy used to go for runs, walks and bike rides on them.

This dragon fly landed on Daddy while we were walking.

We had a great trip in La Crosse. Mommy and Daddy were a little disappointed that I couldn't experience Granddad's Bluff because of road construction. The park was completely closed. Next time!

The Mississippi River

Yesterday morning we got up and took a walk by the Mississippi River. I was pretty impressed with my first views! I sat on the bench and watched some boats and the ducks with Daddy.

These are the old and new Cass Street bridges that go across the Mississippi. The bridge with the round top was built when Mommy and Daddy were in school.

A Blast From the Past

Friday after school, Mommy, Daddy and I head up to La Crosse for the weekend. Saturday morning we got up and walked around campus. It was move in weekend, so all of the buildings were open, so I got a good tour of the campus. First, we stopped at the bookstore so I could get my first UW-L sweatshirt and Mommy and Daddy could get some new gear too. Daddy showed me the wrestling room where he spent most of his college life!

My Daddy was an academic All American. He showed me where his name is on the wall. If you look on the left column, Daddy's name is 5th from the bottom. He was just a little guy, wrestling at 133!

This is the renovated stadium. It's pretty impressive and also houses some classrooms.

This is Drake Hall. Mommy lived there her freshman and sophomore year. She made many great friends and had a lot of fun times in that dorm! We also decided to give ourselves a tour of the new Eagle Hall. It was an amazing residence hall!
