Relay for Life

The first weekend of August, we had our Relay for Life. We had a great couple of hours at the beginning! We had a beautiful survivor's lap and then the storms blew in! We had to move into the field house at Parkside which put a bit of a damper on things! The girls had their matching t-shirts for to honor our favorite survivors...Papa and Josh.

 Smooches for Papa.
 Our awesome survivor, Papa!

 Our other survivor, Josh!
This year the Callewaerts came to join in on the festivities.

Josh's tattoo sums it all up!

Ava helping Papa and Josh release balloons to heaven.
Sadly, this year we had another luminary to add to the group. We added one for my Gramma who is fighting now.

We got an awesome fly by!

Fun Times

Sometimes it's fun to just be silly in front of the camera!

Racine County Fair

My friends, Andrea and Nikki, and I took our girls for a girls only day at the Racine County Fair! We had so much fun with all our girls.

 Riding the pedal tractors.
Gianna wasn't quite sure what to think about the straw she was sitting on. It didn't stop her from making silly faces though.
All the little ladies! Love them so much!
Ava and Addy getting a close up of the miniature horses.
Nikki's nephew and my former student, Noah, both showed pigs for the first year at the fair. It was fun to see the boys show off their pigs when we went into the barn.
AWWWW! These two melt my heart!
Watching all the girls on the rides was the best day of my summer! Nothing could be better than listening to their little giggles as they spun each other in the tea cups!

Then they all went for a ride in the car. This is a snap shot of what our future holds with these silly girls!

Gianna was content sitting back and watching the big girls.

We were able to find some former students to take a picture so the moms could get in on the fun as well! We had a fabulous time at the fair together!

Nap Time Fun

This summer has been spent trying to break Ava of naps in preparation for school. We find fun things to do together while Gianna naps! She loves to bake!

Walnut

I can't believe I'm so far behind with my blogging! Here goes with catching up!! One morning a few weeks ago, we were getting ready for daycare. Ava yelled to me that there was a dead turtle in the road. I looked and the large snapping turtle was anything but dead! A neighbor stopped to try to get the turtle out of the road. With a little team work, we got him out of the road while keeping all limbs in tact!
When we pulled in the driveway after daycare we found this little guy in the driveway. Ava was very concerned about the turtle and asked to get her chair out to watch him. She promptly named him Walnut. She gave him a bowl of water.

Ava sat a good 45 minutes watching Walnut and singing to him. It was so sweet!
