More Introductions

This afternoon, we took Ava to my Gramma and Grampa Zarletti's house so she could meet them. They just returned from their USA tour visiting all of my aunts.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Yesterday we put up the Christmas tree. I was super excited to put it up this year because at the end of the season we splurged at Miligers and bought a prelit tree. It was so nice not to have to string all the lights this year! Chris needed assistance from Kaitlin to unwrap the top part of the tree.

Ava was ready to put up the tree!

One ornament was all this baby could handle!

Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated at Nonna and Papa's house. Grammie and Grampie Uhlenhake also came.
Nonna says it's never too early to have fun in the kitchen!

What Happened Daddy?

Can you tell my daddy started his wrestling season? He came home with a nice black eye! He was wrestling with his boys and blocked a shot with his head and got a nice scratch and shiner. Daddy thinks it makes him look tough. Mommy said we're going to have to wait a bit to have our family photos taken now.

Our First Pumpkin Pie

Chris was hungry for a pumpkin pie, so he decided to be a domestic man and make our first pumpkin pie. Can you tell he was really excited to eat it?

Born to Shop!!!

Chris and I took Ava out to do some Christmas shopping today. I have been dying to put her into the little teddy bear suit and finally got to today!

"Daddy, just give me the credit card!"

"Come on!! I'm ready to go!!"

Glow Baby

Ava was a bit too jaundice when we got her home and had to have a light blanket to help her bilirubin counts return to normal. She had to keep the blanket wrapped around her all the time. It was a bit of a pain because we could only go so far away from the machine because of the hose that connected it. Getting her to sleep that night was also a bit interesting, but we did it. The blanket has done it's job and as of now she is off of it. Dr. Rocco will do one more blood draw (hopefully) on Wednesday and determine if we need to keep the machine for more treatments.

Ava Grace Passe

We went in to be induced on Nov. 17th (Tues.) at 6:00 am. Labor went quickly once the pitocin was started, but things took an unexpected turn when the baby's heart rate dipped with contractions and pushing. They gave me an injection to stop the contractions and opted for an emergency c-section. Chris and I were both a bit scared because we just wanted the baby to be OK. Ava Grace Passe came into the world at 1:18 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. She weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long. She has a ton of black hair and is just perfect! We are planning on going home sometime later today.
Ava right after her first bath. She was less than 1 hour old. Chris was able to help with this while I was still in the surgery room.
A very proud daddy!

UGES Baby Shower

I was suppose to have a baby shower at school on the 27th of October but because of our early hospital visit and being out of school on bedrest, my awesome friends ended up bringing the shower to me! I was thankful that the girls came! Seeing new faces made having to stay home a little easier. Again, Baby Passe, got some wonderful gifts from wonderful people!
Nikki, M.J. and Andrea graciously loaded their cars with shower gifts and came to visit. THANKS LADIES!!

The PT Baby Shower

Chris's co-workers had a shower for us at the hospital during my teacher's conventions. We had lunch ordered in and got some really nice things for the baby! It was also my first outing after being on bedrest, so it was a big and exciting day for me!

Baby Is Coming!

We had another dr. appointment last night. I was quite excited when Dr. H said we could go in Tuesday morning (the 17th) at 6:00 to be induced! We should have a baby sometime on Tuesday!

50th Day of Kindergarten

Today was the 50th day of kindergarten. The teachers and kids dressed up in 50's attire for the annual Sock Hop and icecream social.

Baby Passe Update

Yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor. I am so thankful she is back in town and won't be going anywhere until AFTER our baby is born! She said everything was good, but she wanted me to have another ultrasound ASAP to find out how much the baby weighed and to make sure the development was on track for the size of the baby. (She thought the baby was just under 6 pounds.) I went to work today and got a call about 8:30 from the dr. office that the only time they could fit me in for the ultrasound was at 10:00. Thankfully my principal is awesome and Chris had the day off of work! After a very long ultrasound with Chris and I only really able to make out a hand and the spine, the doctor determined the baby weighs a healthy 6 pounds 3 ounces. He/She is in the 28th percentile and looks great. Chris and I were both happy to know that everything so far looks very healthy and normal!
