On Wednesday the big tree in the backyard finally came down. We were able to provide the neighborhood with a day of entertainment! Our little old neighbors brought their lawn chairs out onto the sidewalks and watched as the crew cut the tree down. Ava and I visited with them for awhile and posed for some pictures with the tree for our neighbor, Shirley. She talked about the day the tree was planted, but was happy that we were having it taken down.
Ava and I went out to work in my classroom for a bit and this is what we came home to.
