Blizzard 2011

The weather was very accurate this time and we got the blizzard that was predicted! Snowfall total was 23.2 inches! The city of Kenosha plows were pulled from the roads last night becaue it was too dangerous. Dad had to go back into work at midnight and said it took him an hour and 15 minutes to get there. It usually takes 20 minutes. He was plowing the interstate and ended up getting stuck between the wall of the interstate and a semi that had stopped. He was there for 6 hours before the other highway trucks were able to plow the interstate in the opposite direction of traffic flow to free the people that were stuck. The National Guard was helping people out of their vehicles and to gas stations to wait until roads were cleared. We are now all cleaned out, but there's still at least 20 inches in most parts of our street. This was the drift that prevented us from opening our back door. It was over 5 feet tall!

The path Chris made to get to the garage.
This was the driveway. The fence is 6 feet tall!
The path that is now cleared to the garage. Notice the bushes on the left!

This picture was taken squating by the garage. This is what Ava would see if she was walking on the sidewalk!
