Lately Ava is really into "art projects." While I was making dinner on Wednesday night she sat at the table for about a half hour peeling the paper off the back of the foam shapes to make her "art project."
Since wrestling season is in full swing and work has been ridiculously busy this year, I've been trying to make a few meals for the week ahead of time. It seems to have my life MUCH simpler during the week and I actually get to hang out with Ava then and not feel so rushed all the time. This week I did really well and have three meals already done! I tried a new recipe this morning for breakfast when we got home. It's blueberry baked oatmeal. I thought it was really good, Chris could take it or leave it but he's not a big oatmeal person to begin with.
Then I made Buffalo Bleu Cheese burgers to throw in the freezer. I am very excited to try these this week.
The final "make ahead" dinner for tomorrow night was Meatloaf with Caramelized Onions and Mushrooms. This is always a favorite at home and the best meat loaf I've ever had. This was a recipe from my mom.
As Ava and I ran to Target this morning I told her we should take some pictures outside today since it's so warm for a January day in Wisconsin. When we got home she said, "Come on, let's go take Valentine's Day pictures." Mark it on the calendar!! MY CHILD WANTED TO TAKE PICTURES!!! She was even very cooperative until it started to be a bit too cold. I had fun playing with them after we looked at them.
Tonight I did some homework from Mommy's school. I had to concentrate and cut out some lowercase letters. Then I had to match the lowercase letter to the uppercase letter. I used a glue stick to put the letters together.
Then I did some mitten homework. I had to look at the patterns on the mittens and match the pairs. I was so excited to do "homework!"
