Playground Fun

Sunday morning we went to Mommy's school to pack up her classroom. While she did that Daddy took me out to the new playground. The A/C wasn't on in the building so we didn't stay at school very long. I still got to play a lot. We stopped at Subway and got lunch to eat at School Yard Park under a little tree.

Greek Fest

Saturday afternoon we managed to get to Greek Fest between rain storms. The grounds were a bit muddy to say the least. Once Ava realize there was mud on her favorite flip flops she started crying and wanted no part in walking anymore. She was upset because her shoes were "ruined." Thankfully we had a huge container of wipes to clean her up. She quickly turned her frown upside down and ate some yummy food and went on some rides.
She LOVED going down the big slide with Chris. They went down 3 times. I'm not sure who liked it the most.

I got the tea cup ride duty again this year. Ava was able to turn the tea cup this year and liked when I turned it and made us spin fast.

Fancy Dresses

Saturday we went with Kaitlin to try on her wedding dress. We also had Ava try on flowergirl dresses, I tried on bridesmaid dresses and mom found her dress. This is Ava's reaction when she saw Kaitlin come out of the room with her dress on. Her smiles and look of amazemend were priceless.
Ava saw this dress as soon as we got into the store and asked to try it on. When I put it on her she started twirling and frollicing.
Dress #2...a bit too big, but was very cute.
Dress #3...Ava was in love with the flower Lisa clipped into her hair. This dress is one of the contenders. There is another coming out soon they are going to order for us to try. It's more similar to Kaitlin's and will allow Ava to wear some of the wedding colors.

I smiled for this picture and Kaitlin told me she was cutting my head off so she could see the dress...
...so I didn't smile for this and my whole head is in it! This is the dress we like the best so far.

Farewell...

This is the reason I'm so behind on the blog...we moved out of our beloved first house. The move started Wednesday afternoon with this truck. All of the furniature that we would be able to use at my parents house was moved and some things from their house got brought back to our house so they could be stored with our belongings to make room for our furniature.
This is the conclusion of the BIG move on Thursday night. For once I will say I am so thankful Chris coaches wrestling!! Three of his guys helped us Wednesday night. Another coach and two of the wreslers helped us on Thursday with the final move. Without them we would have never been able to make the move. I was completely amazed at how helpful and hardworking the wrestlers that came were! Thursday's move was a bit more chaotic. I had both girls at the house to watch (until my mom rescued me after she was done working) and was directing moving so things got brought to storage or left. We quickly filled the one truck we rented and Chris had to get another one. Chris and I were at the house very late getting the last odds and ends together that needed to be moved to my parents' house. Friday morning Chris and my dad drove the UHauls to our storage warehouse and helped unload it all. They then packed  the smaller truck with way more things than we thought that needed to be brought to my parents. Chris got home at 3:00, 1 hour before we closed!!! Talk about cutting it close.
It was so sad to see the house completely empty. Closing went smooth and we talked to the new owners. We just hope they are good to the neighbors we love and that we don't go past our house to see it has "gone down the tubes." Now we will meet with the builder of the home we are hoping to build to figure out why the new bid he gave us is so ridiculously high. We hope we can work things out with him so we can move forward with building the house on the lot we bought last summer.

Go Grasshoppers!

Last week while Daddy went to open mats, Mommy, Gianna and I went to see my friend, Addy, play t-ball. I've never been to a t-ball game before, but I had a lot of fun watching it and running around like a crazy girl.

Scamps

Last week Monday was Ava's first day back to gymnastics since she was released by the neurologist. Not only was it her first day back, it was her first class that she had to go to by herself. The sepeartion didn't go so well at first and she was having NO part in entering the gym by herself. Miss Bree came and took Ava by the hand and brought her into class. After warm ups Ava went through all the stations indepedently and with a smile on her face. It was a good thing Miss Bree was there and Ava already knew her.

 Listening carefully for directions!

Hippo Zoo Class

This morning Ava had her first zoo class of the summer. It was a hippo class. I was chopped liver and Ava wanted Nonna to take her to class, so while the two of them were in class, Gianna and I went and found some iced coffee and hung out. Gianna even wore her hippo shirt for her first zoo outing. Ava made a hippo costume, played with hippos in water and in grass, made a hippo and alligator puppet, made a hippo book, stamped a hippo picture and painted a hippo. She also had "hay" for a snack. At the end of class I got to join  the group for a walk to see Happy Hippo. The zoo keeper threw him pieces of apple so we could try to get a look, but Happy was more content under the water and didn't care for the snack.
When class was over, we walked the zoo for a bit. This bird were REALLY loud! It sounded like it had microphones in the enclosure.
I think these guys wanted in to cool off!

We saw this cute, fuzzy baby alpaca.

After our picnic lunch Ava modeled her hippo costume for me. I'm pretty sure I will need to steal the pattern of the hippo head to make with my kindergarteners during our zoo theme next year!
The costume was complete with a tail! Notice her showing me that hippos open their mouths really wide to scare away alligators!

Morning Bubbles

Ava was so excited to blow bubbles from Finley's birthday party that she woke up at 5:20 this morning! I've started implementing the rule that she can't get up until the first number on her clock is 6 since these early mornings have been happening more than I'd like. When we got up the second time at a little after 7:00 I was OK with heading out to the back stoop to blow bubbles right away. I think she got a kick out of blowing bubbles outside in our jammies. I think our neighbor, Shirley, was also shocked to see us out there so early when she was heading to church.

Happy Father's Day!

This morning Ava was very excited to give Chris his Father's Day card. We couldn't wait and gave him his Father's Day gift early. She was very generous with her lovins for Daddy.

After breakfast, I put the girls in their special "Father's Day" attire. Gianna lasted about 2 hours before we had to change her...that's pretty good!!
Poor Gianna, not sure she likes all the love she was getting.

Happy Birthday, Finley!

Today we went to celebrate Finley's 1st birthday. Finley's Mommy is my teaching partner. It took her awhile to get into her cake. She needed a little encouragement from her Momma and then she got the hang of it.

Ava was in heaven with her Capri Sun.
Gianna snoozed most of the time.
Jayda was so funny trying to get ice from the coolers.
Ava and her friend, Addy.
Ava, Sadie and Faith playing bags.
We now have 6 girls!!! From left to right are Finley-1, Sadie-2, Jayda-2, Addy-5, Ava-3 and Gianna-6 weeks. It's so fun watching these girls play together! Hopefully one day they will cause a ruckus together like their Mommies!!

Baby Smiles

I got some more pictures of precious baby smiles! I think Gianna was excited to head out to her first birthday party!

Summer Weather

We finally got some summer like weather on Wednesday. As soon as I got Ava in the house from Miss Zivka's we put her suit on and ran through the sprinkler.

Gianna was very content to listen to and watch her silly big sister and enjoy the warmth herself.
I caught the side view of her babbling and smiling.

The First Day of Summer Vacation!!

It was pretty gross outside again today so we didn't have any huge plans for our first official day of summer vacation. Ava played dress up and we did some puzzles together while Gianna napped.

Then we watched Gianna make lots of smiley faces and other goofy faces. Nonna came over so I could pack boxes and the girls could be entertained. When I ran out of boxes we got some sandwiches from Common Grounds.
