Friday night was Relay for Life at Parkside. We had fabulous weather. It was actually a little chilly, but wonderful. Ava was excited to see Elmo come to walk.
Kaitlin was our team captain this year. She did a great job with organization and raffles!!
The girls with KK and Uncle Josh, who is a cancer survivor.
The girls showing off the special shirts I made them for Relay.
I always love watching Ava at Relay. She always has so much fun and gets so excited.
Listening to opening ceremonies with Papa.
Thumbs up because Papa is a survivor!!
Some luminaries we found around the track for Josh and Papa.
We would know Ava was sick if there was music playing and she wasn't dancing. Daddy was twirling her around.
Josh and Kaitlin listening to the opening ceremony.
Dad and Josh preparing to walk to walk the survivor lap together. This year was a little sad. Two people that walked the lap last year were no longer with us to walk this year. Dad's friend, Donnie, and my friend, Mary were watching from above this year.
Kaitlin snuck Ava up by Dad and Josh so she could help release the balloon.
When we went to Target earlier in the day we found these cool glow wands that were perfect to bring to Relay. Ava was beyond thrilled when it got dark. She found me on the track with the bag of them and asked if it was dark enough to open them.
We found the luminaries for Josh and Dad after they were lit. It took awhile to find them!! Ava had fun decorating them.
