The girls getting ready for the parade. Putting this dress on Ava over an hour before we left wasn't smart. The entire time she kept asking us if it was time to go to the parade yet. She was a bit excited to get there!
Both girls ready for parade fun.
Ava was ready to go as soon as we got out of the car! Her outfit was complete with the shades she's been waiting and dying to wear. (I wouldn't let her open them until the 4th of July festivities began and she's had them a couple weeks. Apparently I didn't hide them well enough!)
While we waited for the parade to start, Chris, Gianna, Mom and I walked around Library Park. (Dad stayed with Ava in the stands because she was afraid she was going to miss the parade if she walked around. She wanted to wait.) The sausages were there to participate in Kenosha's attempt to hold the world record for the longest chicken dance. Chris wanted no part in getting in on the photos with me.
Ready for the parade to start.
Gianna opened her eyes for a bit. Once the bands, horns and other loud noises started she was knocked out!
My cousin Joe is the sheriff holding the American flag. Every year I yell something obscene to make him laugh and this year was no different. I succeeded again. This year he shot me an evil look first and the cracked his smile!
Rep. Peter Barcca
This little drummer for a greaser band was so adorable. The other band members were in there 30's-50's and he was the drummer.
This tumbling group out of Chicago is CRAZY! This is the first year I didn't feel totally nervous watching them. They do crazy flips and land on mats on the street. I always fear they will miss they mat, but they are AMAZING!!!
Ronald McDonald (AKA Old McDonald as Ava calls him) was the highlight of the parade for Ava. She told us before the parade started that she was looking forward to seeing him.
